Objectives
This innovative project aims to:
provide individualized instructional coaching among newly hired teachers;
mentor newly hired teachers on their career progression; and
intensify professional development and engagement through the Teacher Induction Program.
Description
Each CID supervisor will handle a group of newly hired teachers, specifically, those whom he/she handled during the processing of the document evaluation, demonstration teaching and interview in the selection process. Based on the results from the screening process, CID supervisors will be guided on the profiles and documented performance of their assigned newly hired teachers. After the deployment phase, the school heads will be informed about the roles and responsibilities of the instructional coach/CID Supervisor and the coachee/newly hired teacher about this innovative project. The instructional coaching is not limited on the provision of technical assistance in lesson planning, lesson delivery, assessment, preparation of in-structional materials, orientation on the strategic goals of DepEd, relevant and appropriate teaching peda-gogies, classroom observation tools, and mandates of a public school teacher, but will also cover intensive technical assistance on the professional development and career progression of newly hired teachers in achieving successful placement in SDO-Angeles City.
CID Supervisors will include the provision of instructional coaching in their supervisory plan, so newly hired teachers will be assured of their professional development services. Strong interface between District In-structional Supervision and Instructional Management is evident in the implementation of this innovative project of the Curriculum Implementation Division.
